Freak Out!

Oh my goodness! I looked at the count down. Five months and counting. How is life moving so quickly. We are so excited for Chris & Staci's Wedding Date but life just moves at warp speed lately. I am afraid that before we know it Mark & I will have great grandchildren. Just kidding! Life is such an adventure! I love every minute of it but could it just slow down a minute I can't keep up.

Happy Mother's Day!

A few favorite mom quotes:
Let every mother realize that she has no greater blessing than the children which have come to her as a gift from the Almighty; that she has no greater mission than to rear them in light and truth, and understanding and love; that she will have no greater happiness than to see them grow into young men and women who respect principles of virtue, who walk free from the stain of immorality and from the shame of delinquency. . . . I remind mothers everywhere of the sanctity of your calling. No other can adequately take your place. No responsibility is greater, no obligation more binding than that you rear in love and peace and integrity those whom you have brought into the world. –Gordon B. Hinckley

I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me.
They have clung to me all my life. — Abraham Lincoln

Some mothers are kissing mothers and some are scolding mothers, but it is love just the same, and most mothers kiss and scold together. ~Pearl S. Buck

“It is not until you become a mother that your judgment slowly turns to compassion and understanding.” ~ Erma Bombeck

Grandbabies

Charla needed me to come down & watch McKenna a few days last week. Yeah! An excuse for me to see my adorable little babies. I flew in on Tuesday morning to Salt Lake City and took the Trax system down to Orem. I met Charla at the mall with McKenna. I had a melt your heart moment when popping my head into the car to say Hi to McKenna she screached and couldn't get her hands around my neck fast enough for a huge HUG! AAAH! I spent the next two days taking care of McKenna & Tessa while everyone was gone working. First of all I forgot home much work it was to take care of two little busy bees but so much fun. We played, took walks, read books, and made faces at each other. LOL! The last night I was there McKenna came up once again wanted a huge hug. She was holding on so tight giving me a huge love. Tears came to my eyes because I realized that being a grandma is better then anything in the world. These sweet little girls have stolen my heart and I love them to death. Now if I could just have them live a little closer then it would be PERFECT!

Hawaii Trip on a Budget

Mark & I decided we needed to take Staci & Ashley on a trip for Spring Break this year. It would be the last hooray before everyone flies the coop next year. But of course we needed to do it on a budget and a very cheap budget at that. We enlisted the girls in the plan and it worked out fabulously. Here was our checklist:

1. Free airfare. I know you are saying well I work for an airline it is free!
But not true when it comes to first class. I used some certificates that I had
earned for perfect attendance. Yeah! Hawaii or Bust in First Class!
2. Upon arrival in Hawaii we decided to take a cab to our hotel. While waiting in line we saw a gal that was waiting alone and asked if she would mind sharing the ride she was more then willing and it ended up that the 40 dollar cab ride with tip included was only 25 dollars each. Great deal and it was perfect the gal was staying at our hotel and she got quite a kick out of listening to Ashley & Staci babble about everything and anything.
2. We used points that Mark had earned with Marriott to help with our hotel
accommodations and got the cheapest room but because he had earned elite status with Marriott they upgraded us to a suite that had 3 beds. Everyone was very happy not having to share a bed.
3. Next we ate breakfast & lunch in the room. We did a grocery run on our first day it worked out perfectly because we saved a huge amount of money and Dinner we shared meals. Everyone was happy and had plenty to eat.
4. We rented a car from Alamo for 4 days but only during their promotion of 10dollars a day! That was alot of fun we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center, Explored the other side of the Island and saved our feet some walking by visiting the mall and other stores the girls wanted to visit.

But the best part of the trip was being with my family. I was hesitant to go because of the economy, etc. But the time I spent with my girls and my husband was priceless! No cell phones, No distractions, Just family! This was truly a special trip. Wouldn't it be nice to never have to go back to reality!

Introducing: Tessa Rose Thatcher

Well Tessa surprised us all! Almost 4 weeks early she just did not want to wait for a convenient time to be born. She obviously takes after her dad by being a little impatient. Mark & I could not be more excited for Jen & Kyle but as always it is so hard to be here and them in Utah. We are making plans to try and get down there as soon as possible.

Jen & Kyle

So I am not forgetting Jen & Kyle! Kyle has been so excited about becoming a daddy. I still can't believe this is possible but he will be an amazing dad. As the time is ticking closer I receive numerous calls wanting advice! This is coming from someone that had all the answers. We are very excited to meet little Tessa I am sure she will have quite the little personality. Mark & I are so blessed to have these little spirits coming to our family. Each one is special and unique and we are look forward to the future.
